(sort of) Friday Dust Mite Blogging™

keeping cool

We’re going through a close-to-100°F heat wave, and after a couple of days where the house retained enough coolth to be bearable we were forced to break out the air conditioners. The one that’s downstairs is almost big enough to (loudly) cool the whole floor, but even now it’s struggling to keep the downstairs in the 70s.

Dust Mite isn’t taking any chances.

Friday Dust Mite Blogging (delayed thanks to an overly enthusiastic immune system)™

Boosted Mite

Dust Mite poses with my now-up-to-date-with-4-doses covid-19 vaccination card. I got shot #4 on thursday, and spent friday laid flat because every joint in my body was freaking out as my immune system did an all units response to the spike protein cocktail I was given.

Needless to say, it’s not friday today, but if a time machine would happen by I could remedy that shortcoming, so it’s still friday dust mite blogging time in the ok corral.

Agriculture!

The leeks are in bloom

When I make red beans & rice (I make red beans & rice a lot) I reserve the base of the stem for starting in water & then transplanting onto Leek Hill. The first one I planted (late last fall) is not extremely robust, but it makes up for it by being a fast start at getting a inflorescence started.
