A more traditionally Portland version of THE WHITE DEATH; enthusiastic snow for a couple of hours, but not enthusiastic enough to defeat the heat stored in the ground. There’s a tiny bit of snow on top of the grass and on roofs, but unless the weather has a big nighttime surprise it will all be gone from the riverbottoms tomorrow.

A passageway kitchen, via my CBC (a Sony NEX-3) & a Pentax-110 Pan-focus lens. The painting at the far end is one I did of an (unremembered) western river somewhere in the neighborhood of 1977. There’s a tiny bit of vignetting because the aperture is just a tiny bit too small for the sensor, but it’s not enough to spoil the broth here.

I’ve finish redoing the drivetrain on the emergency randonneuse by making up and gluing battery box bosses onto the rando rack. And now that I seem to be recovered from what may have been a mild case of covid-19 I can take it out on a couple of test loops to verify that the shifting works.

A jig to hold a pusher boss in position during brazing (instead of having to put the frame through a bunch of contortions to have gravity hold it in place while I’m shoveling heat into the joint.)

After spending most of the day watching the autogolpe, I went down to my bike mess and finished putting di2 into the emergency randonneuse. 105->18(!!!) gear inches, so I should be able to climb trees and pull stumps with the ditch gear and still chug along at a reasonable high speed in the upper gears.
