seeing the light of day again

Ancient streetcar trackage on Division St

Non-revenue trackage or Richmond line? I dunno, but it’s probably covered by new asphalt by now.

edit: neither! I found an old map of Portland and it shows it as a railroad line that connected onto the SP main lie south of Brooklyn Yard (turning south off Division and going down 21st to reach it) – possibly it’s part of Stephen Carver’s Portland & Oregon City Railroad?

Silas & hail

We had an enthusiastic hailstorm this afternoon, and no sooner had the hail stopped falling than Silas zipped out to survey the damage.

A savage wildcat

Another cat that walks by itself. Funny, though, this one (also) tends to walk by itself in places where it can get scritched.

I think I need a larger porteur bag

This is a case where a ridiculously low trail fork comes in handy; ~35 pounds of groceries and it still handles like it’s on rails.

The jitney

The jitney

Buckley has a cold, so I took him down to the vets to get a checkup and some drugs. The vet is about a mile away and I wasn’t going to walk him down there, so the solution was obvious.
