Time to void another warranty
Aluminum rack mounts for the front rack on the born-again Trek waiting for me to level the rack and epoxy them to the (carbon-fiber, in case you’re wondering) fork blades. And I bought some carbon fiber fabric (for carbon fiber fenders and a CF dustcap for this bicycle’s headset), so when that gets here I’ll cut a thin ribbon (after getting a facemask so I don’t inhale all those lovely carbon fiber fragments) from it and wrap them tightly just to be paranoid.

My primary concern was that the rack mount would canopener into the front of the fork (which would almost certainly lead to much sorrowing and pain in the embassy of Spain on some descent on unimproved forest roads) and that’s why I extended the foot downwards. It’s not likely to see any loads more than about 10 pounds (if even; it’s a 6.5×6.5 rack, with a correspondingly tiny rando bag) so I don’t need to beef up the mountpoints as if it was a porteur rack.

That looks very snazzy.
I’d be wondering if there was a way to make the base of the mount longer, to get more load spreading, but I’m utterly paranoid about carbon.
