Stratovolcano picture of the day
Mount Hood, as seen from the side of the road in Sandy Oregon. It was quite hazy, and I forgot to bring the polarizing filter, so it’s not quite as *there* as it is in real life.

For this picture, I was standing alongside Bluff Road in Sandy; the other side of Bluff road had a fence, followed by a 150 meter cliff down to the Sandy River. The only cropping I did was to trim out the top rail of the fence and make the photo 3x2.
I’d missed a turn on the cue sheet; if I had been on route, I would have been down in that gorge instead of taking the picture from up top. It was a fair enough trade.
Yeah, I’d say that was a good trade. It’s a good picture.
I will wander off and be pleased with my precipice detection skills, now.

I quite like that one, but wonder where you were standing. (Or, I suppose, you cropped the bottom edge off it.)
As is, it seems like you were on a precipice of some kind, which is not all that usual for landscape shots. I like the effect other than the minor sense of risk of falling.
