A mysteriously tiny bee
This tiny grey and black striped bee (or wasp?) is about 1/10th the size of a honeybee. I'm not sure just what it is, but it's pretty when you get close enough to actually see it.

I see these on my flowers, too. I live in Toronto. I don’t know what they are, but they’re quite adorable, and they don’t seem to sting (or, at least, they don’t get annoyed with me looking at them way up close…). I stumbled on your blog looking for info about them.
