Oh, fuck me.

So, how does the state of Oregon top passing their "no icky gay marriages here" amendment as part of their race towards being a somewhat more mountainous version of Mississippi? Oh, that's easy; lets find some way to sneakily kidnap their children under the guise of "no icky gay adoptions here."

And I'm paying taxes to support these goddamn bigots.

Welcome to Oregon! We hate you, your children, your schools, and the environment, but we'll happily take your tax money while treating you like some pathetic second (or third, thanks to the ancien régime amendment) class scum.

Sounds like its time for the taxpaying gay residents to get together and form a voting bloc.I had no idea they were so homophobic in Oregon.

Oregon is made up of a few very liberal cities (Portland, some of the Portland suburbs, and some of the smaller cities down the Willamette valley) and is typically right-wing and bigoted everwhere else. And most of the state hates Portland on principle, so they go out of their way to screw the city over. The hate amendment? Part of the 60% vote in favor is because someone from Portland said it was okay and this little bit of hatred in action is just their way of getting Portland. Ditto for the ancien reégime amendment – “Portland favors zoning, so we’ll FUCK THEM OVER GOOD” (by passing an amendment which won’t really affect Portland, except for the upper class scum who are trying to pave over the hilly southwest of the city, and who will be the beneficiaries of the landslides that will destroy the mini-mansions that they will defoliate the hills to build; the suburbs and rural areas that passed these bills, well, they’ll be the ones who get the full benefit of polluted rivers and subdivisions instead of the farms and rural views that used to be there) and this latest attempt to gaybash.

I don’t really like Oregon, and if it was up to me I’d sell my house and leave the state today. (well, if it was up to me, I’d leave the country today; now that official US policy is that torture is A-OK, I don’t have much regard for the American Imperium anymore, but it’s a lot easier to emigrate from a state than it is to emigrate from a country.)
